JILL RENSINK

Manager/Instructor/Personal Trainer

Growing up in Canada, my love of fitness/sports started at an early age. I began as a competitive gymnast and transitioned into running (cross country and track) in high school. Track brought me to the US, where I attended Iowa State University on a track scholarship, competing in mid-distance events. After college, I remained on the running scene, participating in the occasional road race, and eventually running a few marathons, including Boston in 2005.

In 2007, I embarked on a new fitness journey and became a certified personal trainer (ACE), working with clients in the Bloomington area, and started teaching group exercises classes in 2013 at Bloomington Body Bar. I began to expand my knowledge and experience with certifications in TRX and BOSU formats and incorporated these into my personal training sessions and class experiences.

I returned to my running roots in 2014 when I started coaching cross-country at Batchelor Middle School, and shortly after that, became an assistant track coach at Bloomington High School South. In 2020, (yes, at the height of the pandemic!) I took over as the Head Coach for the girls’ track and field and cross-country teams at BHSS. While the challenge of the pandemic was real – it has been a joy to return to my running roots, finding a way to combine my love of fitness with my desire to teach, coach and motivate!

From the beginning of this journey, whether working one-on-one, in a group setting or with my teams, I recognized the importance that fitness and wellness play in all our lives. Finding ways to motivate my clients, class participants and athletes is an exciting challenge: how to meet them where they were, while also encouraging them to set goals and progress at a rate that is comfortable, safe, and sustainable for them. Helping them find balance with fitness and the rest of their busy lives is the key!

I am a huge proponent of healthy and sustainable fitness! As we age, our lived-in bodies have different needs, and we need to embrace new ways to reach our goals, whether they are based on fitness achievements or simply being able to enjoy the activities we love. Strength, balance, flexibility, and cardiovascular health are keys to a healthy and happy life. At Limestone Fitness, it’s our goal to help you attain those goals - all at your pace!
